To all sports fans...

Would you rather be a die hard fan of a team who constantly has losing seasons but randomly wins a championship every decade or so, or would you rather be a die hard fan of a team that always has among the best records in the league but can never seem to get the big wins at the end of the year?

I already said it in a completely different thread several days ago: :)

A true fan is able to suffer with his team. I'd rather go with my team through seven (or more) meager years and retain the credibility of the club than to be successful but sell the soul of the team to the devil (commerce that is).

My favorite soccer / football (depending on your side of the Atlantic) teams play third (Germany) and fourth (England) tier level, respectively. But these teams are uncorrupted and it is always a pleasure to me to see them score against even paltry opponents. Every little counts. No way, that I could cheer any of the big teams that are detached from their fans and only regard them as cash cows.

There is no more satisfaction for me than seeing Notts County making it to the promotion play-offs in League 2. Much more than it would be cheering Chelsea winning the Champions League.

I'm a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs... so I'm used to rooting for a team that doesn't win.

As a Oakland Raiders fan, a San Francisco Giants fan and a hardcore Golden State Warriors fan...I think you can definitely count me in as a fan who likes teams despite their ten years of losing. I'm also a San Jose Sharks fan but they're pretty consistent at making the playoffs. Golden State hasn't even been to the playoffs in 12 years!!!!! They're no Red Sox but they sure do test my commitment. However, they made a huge trade this year! Basically they traded over payed white guys for indited black guys. They're gonna make it this year I know it!!!:spump:

in the end, its all about championships. give me the team that always loses but will pull a title out of there ass every 10 years.

I've been a Chicago White Sox fan since I was about 3 years old and the greatest day as of my life as a sports fan was the day they won the World Series two years ago.I stuck it out and it finally paid off.Tasting the bitterness of defeat year after year just made the ultimate victory that much sweeter. If we are talkin' baseball,I think the die hard Marlins fans feel a lot more satisfied than your die hard Twins fans.
So all that said, give me the championships every decade(give or take a few years).:2 cents:

Cubs fan here. You stay with the team you choose early, no matter how much they blow.

I'm another Chicago Cubs fan. They're my favorite team. That's about all that needs to be said to answer this question. In 2008 it will be 100 years since their last championship.

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
what about a die hard fan of a team that never wins championships or the big game? Like the cubs for instance! They're overdue god damn it!
